Founder & Director
Aruka Centre, Est. 2021Anthea Crabbe holds a Master of Science in Clinical Child Psychology from Anglia Ruskin University and is a licensed member of the Ghana Psychological Council (GPC), and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
With extensive experience across hospital, school, corporate, and community settings, Anthea has developed frameworks for addressing mental health that are both clinically rigorous and deeply contextual. She specialises in working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating complex psychological, emotional, and behavioural challenges — including those living with chronic illness, trauma, and major life transitions.
Anthea founded Aruka Centre from a conviction that high-quality, compassionate mental health care should be accessible to all. She leads the team with a commitment to evidence-based practice, collaborative care, and lasting wellbeing.
Sabinah Fremah Ansah holds a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counselling and is a licensed member of the Ghana Psychological Council (GPC) and the Ghana Psychological Association (GPA). She brings a deeply empathetic and integrative approach to her work, drawing on a wide range of therapeutic techniques to meet each client where they are.
Sabinah specialises in health counselling, abuse-related issues, suicide risk assessment, adolescent counselling, and couples therapy. She has particular experience supporting content moderators through resilience coaching — helping them manage the emotional demands of their roles. Her ability to communicate in several local Ghanaian languages enables her to connect authentically with a diverse range of clients.
She is driven by a belief in the transformative power of counselling to foster resilience, healing, and personal growth, and is committed to ensuring every client feels valued, heard, and empowered on their journey to wellness.
Rabbi Darko is a GPC-registered Professional Counselling Psychologist and a doctoral candidate in Counselling Psychology at the University of Education, Winneba. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Guidance and Counselling from the same institution and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Linguistics from the University of Ghana. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Ghana Psychological Association (GPA), and the International Society of Substance Use Professionals, and holds a Certificate in Crisis Intervention for Addiction Professionals from the Drug Advisory Programme of the Colombo Plan.
Rabbi has served as a Licensed Counselling Psychologist at the KNUST Counselling Centre since 2020, providing mental health support, psychotherapy, and psychological counselling to students, staff, and the wider university community. Alongside his university role, he consults for Recovery Pathways Clinic in Kumasi and Girls’ Power Foundation, and has provided psychological support to clients in high-stakes international legal proceedings — including a case managed by Trial International, Geneva. He is also an active researcher, with multiple peer-reviewed publications in counselling psychology, family systems, school guidance, and youth wellbeing, and is currently a member of two internationally collaborative research grant projects.
At Aruka Centre, Rabbi brings a rigorous, research-informed approach to clinical practice alongside deep experience supporting individuals through complex psychological challenges — from addiction and crisis intervention to family dynamics and academic stress. His breadth of experience across institutional, community, and international settings makes him a distinctive and highly capable member of the team.
Doris Osei Bonsu Abakah holds an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Ghana and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast. She brings a broad experience spanning clinical practice, academic research, and higher education.
Doris currently serves as a Research Scientist at the Center for Applied Cognitive Science and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin — roles that reflect her commitment to advancing the science of psychology and nurturing the next generation of practitioners. Her research interests lie at the intersection of cognition, development, and applied psychological science.
Her clinical work spans educational and healthcare settings, with a particular focus on the growth, development, and wellbeing of children and adolescents. Her expertise includes cognitive and intelligence assessments, psychotherapy, and cross-cultural interventions that support individuals affected by trauma and mental health challenges in reintegrating into their communities.
Outside of her clinical work, Doris enjoys dance classes and exploring new places — a reflection of her belief that movement, curiosity, and joy are essential ingredients of a balanced life.
Stephanie Ofori-Kuragu holds a Master of Science in Clinical and Health Psychology from Bangor University UK and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Ghana. She is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Ghana Psychology Council (GPC). She brings a rigorous academic foundation and a warm clinical presence to her work with individuals navigating the intersection of physical and psychological wellbeing.
Her practice focuses on supporting clients managing chronic illness, stress-related conditions, and behavioural change. Stephanie takes a holistic, evidence-based approach — tailoring interventions to each client’s unique circumstances and helping them develop practical strategies for sustainable mental health.
She is committed to making psychological support accessible and meaningful, with a particular passion for empowering clients to take an active role in their own healing and growth.
Maame Esi Komotsi Addo is a GPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with an MPhil in Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Ghana, Legon, where her research focused on executive functioning and depression following traumatic brain injury. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast and is currently a doctoral candidate in Public Health (Social and Behavioural Sciences) at the University of Ghana. She is a member of the Ghana Psychological Association (GPA).
Maame Esi brings substantial hospital-based clinical experience, having served as a Clinical Psychologist at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital — one of Ghana’s foremost medical institutions — where she provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults presenting with emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties, conducted neuropsychological and cognitive assessments, and prepared recommendations for educational and legal institutions. She currently practises as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the National Assessment and Resource Center, where her work includes cognitive assessments, evidence-based psychological therapies, and reports for school placement and examination eligibility.
Her clinical practice is grounded in a strong research orientation, shaped by her academic work in neuropsychology and public health. At Aruka Centre, Maame Esi brings particular depth in assessment, child and adolescent mental health, and working with clients navigating complex cognitive and behavioural challenges — offering care that is precise, evidence-based, and deeply attentive to each individual’s needs.
Stephen Asare Agyeibi holds a Master of Philosophy in Education (Guidance and Counselling) from the Catholic University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Education, Winneba, where he graduated with Second Class Upper Honours. His academic foundation is matched by over a decade of applied experience at the intersection of counselling, education, and community development.
Stephen has served as a Teacher and School Guidance and Counselling Coordinator with the Ghana Education Service for over twelve years, providing direct counselling support to young people, facilitating parent-teacher consultations, and serving as a member of the school management committee. His sustained commitment to youth welfare and professional excellence earned him successive promotions within the GES — including to the grade of Assistant Director I in 2024 — a testament to his leadership and the quality of his practice.
A trained facilitator in conflict resolution, peace building, and leadership development, Stephen brings a confident, solution-focused approach to his work with individuals and families. At Aruka Centre, he draws on his deep experience supporting young people through behavioural, academic, and emotional challenges to offer counselling that is grounded, empathetic, and oriented toward lasting growth.
Sabina Asiedu-Preprah is a Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years of frontline experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and institutions across crisis counselling, marriage and family therapy, and school-based mental health. She holds a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counselling and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychology, both from Methodist University Ghana, and is a licensed member of the Ghana Psychological Council (GPC). She completed her clinical internship at Lekma Hospital, where she worked within a multidisciplinary team managing presentations including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and suicide risk.
Her professional background spans over a decade of crisis, marriage, and family counselling — delivering therapeutic services to individuals and couples navigating relational conflict, life transitions, and emotional distress — alongside four years as a School Guidance Counsellor at Paraclete Christian International School, where she supported children from K–6 on academic, social, and emotional challenges and trained teachers and parents on child development and stress management. She draws on CBT, CPT, and solution-focused techniques, with a particular sensitivity to cross-cultural communication that allows her to connect meaningfully with diverse client populations.
Beyond the consulting room, Sabina is an active mental health advocate. She appears periodically as a guest speaker on Ghanaian television — addressing topics from stigma and coping strategies to spirituality and mental health — and has delivered keynote addresses to women’s groups and secondary schools on adolescent wellbeing, self-esteem, and work-life balance. She has also partnered with NGOs to facilitate free counselling camps and community mental health screening drives. At Aruka Centre, she brings that same commitment to accessible, impactful care to every client she serves.
Eunice Panford-Quainoo holds a Master of Philosophy in Counselling Psychology and is a licensed member of the Ghana Psychological Council (GPC). She works with individuals and families facing a wide range of emotional, relational, and psychological challenges, bringing warmth, professionalism, and a client-centred approach to every session.
Eunice is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and supported. Her practice draws on evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, which she applies flexibly to meet the diverse needs of the people she serves.
She believes deeply that every person has the inner capacity for growth, healing, and lasting change, and finds purpose in walking alongside clients as they discover that capacity for themselves.
Bright Kwaku Kafui Komla holds a Master of Arts in Counselling and is a professional member of the Ghana Psychological Association. He also has professional training as a social worker, holding a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Work with the Study of Religion.
Bright is a skilled public speaker and educator, regularly invited to speak at conferences, workshops, and webinars. His dynamic communication style ensures that every audience leaves informed, inspired, and better equipped to engage with mental health topics.
He is committed to reducing stigma, building emotional resilience, and helping individuals lead healthier, more purposeful lives.
Anita Sama Quist holds a Master of Philosophy in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counselling from Methodist University Ghana. She is a member of the Ghana Psychological Association (GPA) and the Ghana National Association of Certified Counsellors (GNACC), and speaks English, Fante, and Twi — enabling her to connect authentically with a broad and diverse range of clients.
Anita has developed substantial clinical depth through her internship at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), where she worked across both in-patient and out-patient settings, providing psychotherapy for individuals presenting with depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Her clinical experience includes postpartum psychological assessment and intervention, marital therapy, grief counselling for families of children admitted to the Neonatal ICU, psychological first aid for individuals in suicidal crisis, and marital assessments prepared for legal proceedings.
Outside the consulting room, Anita serves as a Marriage Counsellor at her Church — a reflection of her broader commitment to supporting relationships and family wellbeing in the community. At Aruka Centre, she brings a warm, culturally attuned presence to every session, creating a space where individuals, couples, and families feel genuinely heard and supported on their journey toward healing.
Louisa Setornam Zormelo is a clinical psychologist intern and a passionate mental health advocate. She is an alumnus of University of Ghana where she completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. She occupied leadership positions and spearheaded student focused initiatives on mental health, sexual wellbeing and resilience during her schooling years. Ms. Zormelo is deeply interested in helping young professionals and students identify opportunities in the psychology profession and also assist in resolving challenges.
Ms. Zormelo has particularly focused her research on adverse childhood experiences and its impact on mental health. She is equally interested in employee wellbeing and corporate mental health. This interest has led her to provide customized mental health talks to many leading companies in Ghana including; Enterprise Group PLC, Total Energies Global, Impact life insurance, among others.
Currently serving as the National Student Representative of the Ghana Psychological Association, Ms. Zormelo is committed to continually advocating for the best interest of employees and improving mental health services across Ghana.
At Aruka Centre, Louisa is dedicated to making mental health resources more accessible particularly for young people navigating the complexities of adolescence and early adulthood.
Elibank leads the operational and growth strategy at Aruka Centre — overseeing project delivery, institutional partnerships, and business development, ensuring Aruka’s clinical vision translates into structured, scalable, and sustainable programmes. He plays a key role in building the partnerships and systems that allow Aruka to grow its impact across corporate and institutional collaborations.
Ruth Antwiwaa is the warm and professional first point of contact at Aruka Centre. As Administrator, she ensures that every client’s experience — from their first enquiry through to the end of their session — is smooth, welcoming, and well-coordinated. Her dedication to excellent service reflects Aruka’s commitment to creating an environment where every person feels respected and at ease from the moment they reach out.
