Questions People Ask Us

We understand that reaching out for support can feel unfamiliar. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often — so you can take your next step with clarity and confidence.

Your Questions, Answered

You do not have to wait until things feel overwhelming before seeking help. Therapy can support you at any stage of life. Some common signs you may benefit from seeing a therapist include:

  • Experiencing persistent stress, anxiety, or low mood
  • Struggling with grief, loss, or major life changes
  • Facing relationship or workplace difficulties
  • Noticing changes in sleep, appetite, or concentration
  • Wanting personal growth, clarity, or healthier coping strategies

We offer a wide range of services including individual counselling, couples and family therapy, child and adolescent support, trauma recovery, psychological assessments, and workplace mental health programmes. Visit our Services page for the full list.

You can book a session in three ways:

We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance to access our standard session rates.

Sessions typically last between 30 and 50 minutes. Duration may vary depending on the nature of your needs and the type of session. Your therapist will discuss this with you during your first appointment.

We typically recommend a minimum of three sessions to establish a therapeutic foundation and begin to see meaningful progress. The number of sessions is always guided by your individual needs and goals, and your therapist will review this with you regularly.

Yes. We offer virtual therapy sessions that are just as effective as in-person sessions for most concerns. Online sessions are ideal for those with busy schedules or who are unable to attend at our Haatso clinic in person.

Counselling provides a supportive, confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours with a trained professional. It equips you with tools to manage stress, improve relationships, navigate difficult experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself — fostering growth, resilience, and lasting wellbeing.

Standard session fees start from GHC 400 per session (30–50 minutes). We offer three session types:

  • Standard sessions — booked at least 24 hours in advance at our regular rate
  • Premium Sessions — evenings and Sundays, subject to therapist availability
  • Premium Plus slots — booked within 24 hours, attract a higher rate

Special rates are available for students and children. Contact us to discuss your needs.

Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. Everything shared in your sessions is treated with strict professional discretion. There are rare legal and ethical exceptions — for example, if there is a risk of serious harm — but your therapist will explain these clearly at the start of your work together.

Yes. We offer an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for organisations and a Student Assistance Programme (SAP) for educational institutions. Both provide structured, confidential mental health support tailored to workplace and school environments. Visit our Plans page or contact us for a tailored proposal.

A Good Next Step

How to Prepare for Your First Session

You do not need to have everything figured out before you arrive. These simple steps can help you feel more at ease and get the most from your time.

💡

Reflect on What Matters Most

Think about what has been weighing on you recently and what kind of support you are hoping for. There are no right or wrong answers.

📝

Note Any Questions You Have

Write down anything you would like to ask your therapist — about the process, their approach, or what to expect. Your first session is also a chance for you to assess the fit.

💚

Come As You Are

You do not need to prepare a perfect summary or have clear goals. Simply showing up with honesty and openness is more than enough to begin.
